Monetary contributions to Winnipeg Harvest / Floral Philanthropy are always welcome and encouraged.

Floral Philanthropy’s partnership began with Winnipeg Harvest when Hennie Corrin, Barry McArton, and Joyce Berry were working on the Empty Bowls Celebrity Dinner which is major fundraiser for Harvest. The three were very impressed with the then, ED, David Northcott, and the wonderful work they were doing for the community.

Winnipeg Harvest is a non-profit, community based organization that is a food distribution and training centre. Their goal is to collect and share surplus food with people who are hungry and to offer training opportunities to help people step up and out of poverty. Their ultimate goal is to eliminate the need for food banks in our community.

Winnipeg Harvest has the unique ability to turn every donated dollar to $20. This means your tax-receipted gift will provide relief and make a huge difference. Winnipeg Harvest currently provides food for 63,765 individuals each month in Winnipeg and rural Manitoba. Of those who require the use of food banks, more than 41% are children. Manitoba has the 2nd highest rate of children using food banks across Canada.

So far Floral Philanthropy has helped to raise approximately $180,000.00 worth of food!!

The gift of Floral Philanthropy and the effect of flowers have on people in health care is truly a blessing. To add to the blessing of the power of flowers, we at Harvest are delighted to leverage your cash donation by 20 times, so we gather the maximum dollars’ worth of food for hungry families. A gift for the spirit and a gift for the body. Many thanks for the impact of giving to others.
— David Northcott, Former Executive Director of Winnipeg Harvest
